Ethnic Week Celebrates Diversity

With a constant commitment to maintaining diversity among the student body, the Wayne State University School of Medicine held its annual Ethnic Week celebration in November, 2000. The week-long celebration hosted guest speakers to discuss cultural sensitivities in health care and concluded with an ethnic food fair and fashion show.

The Wayne State University School of Medicine is one of the nation’s most ethnically diverse medical schools. It ranks seventh in the nation in the number of underrepresented minority graduates, and draws students and residents from around the globe, representing virtually all racial and ethnic backgrounds.
