This
is my final Alum Notes message as association president. The
Medical Alumni Association is a wonderful asset to the school, and we
are all so proud of this institution. For over a century, thousands of
graduates have provided outstanding care to literally millions of
patients.
Wayne State University’s reputation as a great place to learn
patient care has become national: 10 percent of all medical school
applicants include Wayne State among their choices. The school also has
earned an impressive research reputation, reaching the top tier in
national rankings. Now, more than ever, remember the wonderful education
you received and help us to sustain its quality. Dedicated
staff, association board members, volunteers, and the generosity of our
alumni have made the past year notably productive. Congratulations to
Merle “Pete” Rydesky for leading this year’s successful
half-million plus Telefund. Pete also has proposed several
excellent suggestions for implementation next year. The
Alumni Association offices have relocated to 101 E. Alexandrine,
Detroit, 48201, near the main entrance to Harper Hospital. Dean Crissman
has provided us spacious new quarters (with windows).
I
hope to see many of you at upcoming spring events.
