1. Academic or Medical Center Practice

2. Community Hospital Practice

3. Research & Education

  • The Pathology programs use the facilities of the Wayne State University School of Medicine and the affiliated hospitals of the Detroit Medical Center, including the Harper/Hutzel Hospital, the Children's Hospital of Michigan, the Detroit Receiving Hospital and University Health Center, as well as the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center and the Wayne County Office of the Medical Examiner. The diversity of affiliated hospitals allows residents to receive experience and training from a broad spectrum of pathological materials ranging from embryofetal to geriatric populations in a large urban medical center. The department faculty members represent both research and clinical faculty with broad and specialty expertise (see Faculty Directory).
