Melissa Lingohr, PhD
Assistant Professor of Pathology

Education and Training:

Ph.D., Graduate Student/Research Assistant: 8/94-1/2000 Pharmacology/Toxicology Graduate Program
Washington State University, Pullman, WA
Cumulative GPA: 3.9

Bachelor of Science, Biology: 6/92
University of Washington, Seattle, WA
Cumulative GPA: 3.5

Faculty Appointments:

Assistant Professor, Department of Pathology, Wayne State University, 10/04-present.

Major Interests:

As part of the Center for Integrative Metabolic and Endocrine Research (CIMER) at Wayne State
University, my research is focused on defining the molecular mechanisms by which nutrient signals
modify metabolism in liver cells and growth in pancreatic ß-cells. The goal of the research is to define signaling pathways in which to target for the treatment of diabetes.
