Partnerships For Life The School of Medicine and Children’s Hospital of Michigan have been longtime partners in the pursuit of improved care and research for children’s health issues. With this goal in mind, the two organizations joined forces to raise $17 million in philanthropic funds for endowed faculty positions in the Department of Pediatrics. In 2000, this goal was realized when 13 pediatric endowed chairs and two endowed professorships were announced. These endowed faculty positions symbolize the partnership between the two medical institutions and, just as important, between the community and the institutions. This unprecedented announcement also indicates that donors stand firmly behind the important work being done in pediatric health care. It is an honor to highlight the donors and doctors who are working to create a long and healthy future for the children in metropolitan Detroit. Philanthropists and Honored Faculty
